Uncle forged quickly to the front and set the pace, was boring out and seemingly in difficulties on the stretch turn, but drew away finally and decisively. Gene Russell ran lapped 011 the winner to be last sixteenth, where ho tired after suffering some from interference by the winner when boring oul. Dead Gone ran forwardly and gamely throughout, but was never really dangerous so far as the first two were concerned. Ilinialya got away badly and finished well. Hartford Roy is evidently a moderate non-stayer. Golden Pearl, palpably short, displayed superior speed for three furlongs, then tired awl is a coining eraekerjack. Blue Pigeon, after being patiently reserved within striking distance of the pacemaker, moved up into the lead when lginning the last quarter and came on and won as his rider pleased. Tliistledale made the miming, but fenced badly and, after taking the first three jumps, began to tire, but outclassed the others on the Hat and was an easy second. Waiting tactics were tried on Judge OGin witli con spiciious success and he held 011 well. Guardian II. ran prominently to the last turn, where he suddenly and unexpectedly dropped out. McCarler stumbled at the start, but quickly ranged alongside Kentucky Beau, drew out on the hiiekstreteli and filially won off. Crcssina trailed the first two early and closed up rapidly in the last half, seemed menacing on the last turn, but dropped back eventually, yet ran a line race. Itapid Water was reserved under a hard pull within easy striking distance of the pacemaker, then moved up on the last turn and drew out with a rush, winning as his rider pleased. Rye, crowded early anil hemmed in in the middle running, finished fast in a belated stretch rush. Orbicular, carried out on the last turn, also came with a belated stretch rush, finished going like a cyclone and was e isily second best. Tommy Waddell made the running after going the first quarter and, crowding Rye out, held sway to the last turn, where he was headed by the winner and finally succumbed for third place in a game effort. Lord Lovat trailed to the last quarter and finished well. Jacquin failed to stay after being prominent for six furlongs. Nimbus set the pace throughout, came away into a long winning lead m the last turn and only cantered through the last furlong. The Squire was securely pocketed 011 the inside. Queen Marguerite also stopping in front of him at a critical moment on the last turn, allowing the winner to get away, could, not over come the Litters lead, but was an easy second. Imitator got away badly and closed a big gap into a fast going third. Sepoy broke slowly and moved up rapidly, loomed up on the last tunir but tired finally. Rarodu was gaining fast in the stretch and closed a big gap. Queen Marguerite showed brilliant early fcpeed. but failed to stay. Scratched 701 10 Woodbine, 110; O0S3S Belphoebe. 90. Sonoma- Relle was skillfully and patiently reserved in the rear for half the journey, then steadily improved her position in the last sis furlongs and finally made good in the last strides of a terrific drlv. riavigny. always well up, came through cn the inside in the stretch, where she drew out "in the last fifty yards, only to succumb finally. Racine II. made the running almost throughout and swerved Into a narrow defeat in the last few strides. Maxnar was a forward contender throughout and might have won but for being impeded In the last sixteenth. Kirst Mason had no mishaps, was taken the short route and tired lu the stretch drive.
