Omah .1. was well ridden, followed Cousin Kate closely to the stretch turn, where, by saving ground, she dasffed into the lead and linally won with something to spare. Oleasa ran a good race and closed a big gap. Cousin Kate was speedy, but tired badly in the stretch after going wide on the last turn. Alsono was gaining steadily and would have been third in a few more strides. Spendthrift Helen had no mishaps and ran poorly. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Tom Shaw, showing sudden improvement and favored at the start, took a long lead at once and won all the way. Kitty Smith, hard ridden throughout, closed a big gap and finished fast and gamely. Frescati, away poorly, came with a rush in the last quarter and took third place in the last stride. Gilvedear showed early speed, but was in the worst going, was shuffled back on the lirst turn by the winner and tired badly in the last furlong. Letohatchie quit badly after going a quarter. Charley Ward ran a good race and outstayed Dew of Dawn in the closing strides. Dew of Dawn also ran a good race, but tired in the last furlong. Laura Clay was practically left at the post.
