Quadrille, from an indifferent start, rapidly improved his position on the outside and got up in the last stride of a whirlwind stretch run. Don Hamilton, from a striding start, was a prominent and luckily placed contender throughout. Flaxman, from a Hying Start, was always a forward contender and drew Out on the last turn, but tired finally. Teacress cpiit after helping to force the pace from the start and probably was short. Security, from a flatfooted start, was securely pocketed until in the last fifty yards, was pulled up a dozen times and several times off his balance and was immeasnrably best. Bowling Bridge, sway very badly, closed a big gap. La Londe, nearly left, also made up much ground. Heine finished wed. Ilvrodotus unexpectedly quit. Gambrinus was shuttled to the rear early. Nimbus broke tlat footed, but quickly singled out of the ruck and successfully proceeded to spread-eagle his opponents. Earls Court, away best, was able, under pressure, to keep in nearest pursuit of the winner- throughout and finished a game Second. Keep Moving, away slowly aud shuttled to the rear, closed a big gap and finished fast, but swerved into defeat for second place. Miss Delaney, after prominent pursuit of the winner, dropped back on the last turn and then came again unexpectedly. Master Robert, never dangerous in the early running, finished moderately well. Blue Pigeon, after fencing badly and losing ground at each jump, quit finally, retiring into a distant third. The Doctor ran prominently for a " mile and then dropped out. Caboehon ran as if sulking throughout, was nearly left and seemingly refused to pass the other horses or extend himself. Lancastrian, also luckily placed aud reserved In close pursuit of the pacemaker, finally wore the latter down in a long closing drive, appeared a sure winner in the last fifty yards and was unprepared for the winners challenge. Smiling Torn set a fast pace and tired right at the end. Betsy Bin ford finished fast. Sonoma Belle, away poorly, steadily improved her position and finished with a belated stretch rush. Brancas steadily improved his position after getting away badly. Lally made up much ground in the last mile. Lord Stanhope failed to stay. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid.
