Beardali, from a flying start, set the pace to the last couple of strides before he succumbed. .Miss Dclaney ran forwardly and persistently tli-oughout, but was not quite good enough. Louis Roedcrer was shuffled to the rear and closed a gap. St. Ilario ran promt nently, but tired and disliked the going. Alauda held on moderately well. Hal, away very badly, was hopelessly outpaced all the Way. Tee Tick showed superior- early speed. Himalaya ran a bad race: The winner was entered for ; no bid. Marster, seemingly outpaced in the early running, caught up rapidly on the last turn, seemed likely to win midway of the stretch and was a game second. Troublemaker, badv ridden, dropped to the rear and closed an immense gap in the last half. Sally Preston showed brilliant earlv speed, hut failed to stay. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. Purslane closed up well iu the last three furlongs and is extra good. Ben Ban was always outpaced and quit in the closing drive, running a bad race. Goldquest held on moderately well. Tartar Maid seemed unable to stride freely in the going. Live Wire got awav badly and was always outpaced. The latter, seemingly outpaced for six furlongs, finished with a rush and is becoming good. AVorkman ran in strenuous and nearest pursuit of the winner for six furlongs and then tired. Lady Corinne relinquished her lead early, but ran in nearest pursuit of the winner and was wearing her down at the end. Lotus Brandt dropped back and was outpaced, but closed a gap in the last half. Imitator, off well, kept well up in the early stages, but failed to stay. Queen of the Hills ran prominently to the stretch and tired. Dixie Gold was nearly left. Proclivity kept a good position and " closed u; at the end slowly.
