HILDRETHS MUCH-FEARED HOODOO. Of a well-known mental feature of Sam Hildreth an Oakland dispatch says: "None so superstitious as Hildreth, he still holds an interdiction over all photographers. Sam believes in the kodak hoodoo. He wouldnt have his picture taken for anything. No Mohammedan is more scrupulous in this respect than the trainer of the Big Tent Stable of the winter. On the opening day several newspaper snapshot experts attempted to get within range of Hildreth and his horses, but they didnt succeed. Hes been known to smash a 25 camera and then ask the owner for the bill rather than bane a picture taken."
