Import was a prominent contender throughout. Buto. away very badly, closed a big gap and was a close and fast going fourth. Kerry, badly ridden and shuffled back repeatedly, was going fast at the end. Friar of Elgin worked through a rough early journey and, after being knocked to the rear on the far turn, finished well. Manila S.. away poorly, steadily improved her position into a fast going third. Furze was crowded back in the early running and finished with a rush. Woolen was in prominent contention to the stretch, then tiled. L. C. Aclcierlcy, knocked back early, closed a gap in the last half. John C. Grans, nearly left, ran hopelessly, wide on the turns and finished well under a bud ride. Rosal had a Uatfootcd start. Anopus ran well to the stretch. The winner was entered for 90; no bid.
