Creston was reserved and not called on until entering the stretch, then easily shook off Balreed when an "eighth out, winning finally with something to spare. Barney Oldfield, always prominent, in a sharp last eighth drive finished fast and outstayed Balreed. The latter showed the most early speed and tired in the stretch, but finished resolutely. Astoria Belle ran fairly well. The others were always outpaced. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Scratched 72130 Supine, 03. Norfolk made up ground gradually in the final quarter and was wearing the win nor down at the end. Adoration came from far behind and finished like a shot. Hereafter showed superior early speed, but tired in the final sixteenth. Waterbury met with much interference and finished fast and close up. Killer ran well up to the pace until in the stretch, then shook off Eduardo when an eighth out. but had to be hand ridden to stall off Frank FllttneTs challenge. The latter, virtually left and turned sideways when the barrier went up, was persevered with throughout, made up ground gradually and was wearing the winner down at the end and was easily best. Eduardo set the pace last, but was done for when an eighth out. J. F. Donohue tired and can do better. Ormondes Rignt went well for a mile. The winner was entered for ; no bid. Christine A. finished fast under the whip. Uncle Henry quit all over. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
