■ ROCK SAND COLT AT NURSERY STUD. Lexington. Ky.. January 2o.— The first foal by-Rock JSand. the ureal Knglish iorse for which August Belmont paid 25,000, to be dropped in this country, was foaied by Fetish at Nursery Stud thfcl atteni.Min. II is a fine big chestnut colt. Superiu-i temient Ed Kane is highly elated over the arrival of the colt. "A coit for the first born," said he. "Well. Rock Saiid has made a good start. He has two two-year-olds and thirteen yearlings in Eng land, but this is his. first in America and the first of his third year in the stud. Walter C. Rollins, who committed suicide iu New-York lasl Saturday, was a native of Lexington, lie began his career on the turf some thirty years ago as a stable lx.y in the employ of the late Price MetJrath. The first good horse he ever trained was General Monroe, winner of the Subuxbau Han dicau of 1384.
