C was s held in this city last Saturday night for the purpose e of arranging a succession of race meeUngs at c these different cities during the coming summer. :- It is proposed to give consecutive meetings, begin :" ning May M at Petaluma. until October 22. although h no dates have been scheduled as yet, but it is s expected that the Pacific Jockev Club will shortlv v allot dates and apiMunt stewards to represent the * governing l«idy at the several meetings. The overnight r" purses at all the meetings will be for $:.o0. *t and the handicaps 00. Two reorganized jockey clubs and the organization of a new one at Tacoma a aud Anaconda are practically assured. The Vancouver * project carries with it the building of a new w track costing 1908.sh."..imu . Harry Green, heading a a syndicate of Spokane business men. proposes to ■ build a mile track at Spokane and abandon the le preseut site at the Inter-State Fair Association jjj grounds. Kobert J. Hiller. H. L. Mclntyre aud other Taeoina citizens plan the building of ■ a complete racing plant ar South Tacoma Junction. H. I. Wilson, president of the Butte_Jockey Club, • anticipates holding a sixty-day meeting at Butte le and a shorter meeting at Anaconda. From present indications the meetiim at Oakland " will continue until the latter part of May. when the scene will change to Petaluma. where a twelve re or eighteen-day meeting will be held before the thoroughbreds are shipped to the northern circuit.
