January 27.— A meeting of the stew - ards of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Aaa# eiatioit was held at the offices of the association in the Windsor Arcade Saturday, at which a reso- lution was passed reducing the nnmber of stewards from twelve to* nine. *The resignations i Thomas Clyde and H. tarroll Brown were received. The twelve meintiers of t he board of stewards were: J. H. Alexandre. Vugust B»luiout. H. Carroll Blown, John E. Cowdin. Thomas Clyde, J. G. Follaiisbcc. S. S. How land. Charles Hayden. Clarence Maekay. H. J. Morris. H. S. Page and J. E. Widener. Applications were received for membership from the Blaek.-tone Valley Hunt of Massachusetts and the Oakridgc Hunt of Virginia Favorable action was taken on the application af the Rockaway Hunt to conduct a days racing on Saturday. April 25. Like permission was given the Waikins Hunt of Plainfield. N. J., for racing on May 2S and May :;n.
