, , , CONDITIONS OF RACE FOR ARMY OFFICERS. Washington, D. C, February 14. — Announcement of the conditions of entry in the race for the ■ officers army service cup to be run at the spring 1 meeting of the Washington Jockey Club was made at the War Department today. It is for horses four years old and over, to be the property, uncon : ditionally and free from contingency, of officers of I the army from January 1, 1908, to the date of entry. A gold cup to the value of 00, suitably i engraved, is to be presented to the regiment, corps or staff department to which the winner belongs. J The race is to bo renewed each year. The j Washington Jockey Club will further present to tb • j owner of the winner a silver cup valued at 50. to the owner of the second horse a silver cup val ued at 50, and to the own«r of the third horse a silver cup valued at 5. The horses are to be ridden in drab uniform by an officer of the regi- i ment from which the entry is made. The weight to lie carried is 150 pounds, but thoroughbreds are to carry fourteen pounds extra, and no saddle is to | be used weighing less than seven pounds.
