DAY OF DULL RACING AT SEATTLE Seattle Wash July 10 As was to have been expected from the mediocre fields that furnished tlie racing it was a day of disappointment at The1 Meadows For the second time tills week all the favorites were bowled over Colonel Dick Webber Mechlin Ida May J F Doiiohue and Wise Child making up the list The last named ran like a false alarm showing nothing to warrant the sup ¬ port lavished upon him Colonel Dick and Mechlin were both sadly deficient in speed Webber was simply not good enough J F Donohue was the victim of a poor ride and Ida May was unable to cope with the steadily improving Fern L which easily scored her third straight victory of the meet ¬ ing Abbey and II Tremor tnvo of the winners displayed conspicuous improvement over their last previous performances performancesJacob Jacob Schaefer editor of the Slaats Zcitung and Iresse has taken the initiative towards the organi ¬ zation of a local branch of the Personal Liberty League and his paper will lead the light against all prohibition movements In this state stateR R V Friedman the San Francisco turfman was an arrival today
