MARECHAL NEIL AND HER COLT After declaring that buyers were shy at Allisons Cobham sale July 20 in England the London Sport ¬ ing Life says of Mr Stanhopes Marechal Neil i and her colt which were bid in The American bred mare Marechal Nell sister to Rhoda B the dam of Orby and Rhodora did not find a purchase and was passed out at 3850 What the reserve was I did not hear but as she is almost certainly in foal to Adam probably the best of Flying Foxs sons she ought to be worth a good round sum The black colt by Watercress out of Marechal Neil remained unsold the retiring figure being 3400 Some of the critics took exception to his forelegs but all agreed that he is a wellgrown and beauti ¬ fullytopped horse
