DEATH OF PRESIDENT D H BARNES BARNESSudden Sudden Demise of the City Park Jockey Club Chief in Chicago ChicagoPresident President David II Barnes of the Cltv Park Jockey Club of New Orleans died at his home 368 Winthrop Avenue Chicago Monday morning of acute intestinal trouble after an illness of three days He came from New Orleans two weeks ago to visit his family and close a construction contract wijii the Rock Island railroad He was to have returned to New Orleans this week The funeral will be held this morning at 10 oclock Interment will he at Calvary Dave Barnes was but fortyfive years of age and leaves a widow and three children He was a popular contractor and nephew of Ed Corrigan and for Mr Corrigau lie built the second Hawthorne stand and Kansas City and City Park race tracks For the last three years he had completed many extensive contracts in the south notably a large hotel and theater in New Orleans and part of the Southern Pacific termin ¬ als iu the same city Mr Barnes connection with racing was clean and supportive and he had a keen affection for the sport
