HEASLIP CO WANT TO CONTROL CONTROLNew New Orleans La September 20 There now seems to be a stronger probability than ever that New Orleans will have good racing here next winter according to the belief of many who have taken the trouble to watch the situation situationOn On the surface there is little to warrant the as ¬ sertion but beneath it many things are going on which strengthen this opinion John H Hach meister Irepresenting the Cella interests conferred with Colonel S F Heaslip president of the New Orleans Jockey Club and it was given out after ¬ wards that the Cellas were opposed to making any attempt at holding a meeting here this winter Col ¬ onel Heaslip did not hold out much encouragement to HachmeisterAt Hachmeister At a conference to be held in Cincinnati next week S V Heaslip Ed Corrigan L A Cella J Rhiuock and the interests the latter represents will get to ¬ gether and settle matters The idea In this locality Is that local interests should control but those interests have not the stock to control and will re ¬ quire the consent of the northern interests interestsThere There will undoubtedly be racing of a high class here whether the meeting lasts longer than sixty days or not but whether the northerners will oblig ¬ ingly step aside and allow local Interests to run things remains to be seen
