OAKLAND TO GATHER 2000 HORSES San Francisco Cal September 2S Before leav ¬ ing for the east President Williams of the jockey club ordered that the string of cottage barns known as millionaires row hj reserved with the exception of the assignments already made to J O it G II Keene Barney Schreiber A B Spreckels El Nido Stable and S C Hildreth for the use of eastern turfmen whom he may induce to make the trip to the coast with good stables of horses Presi ¬ dent Williams fully expects to fill up all these stables and more too with the eastern contingent It in estimated that there will be from 1500 to 2000 horses in training at Emeryville before the season reaches its height To accommodate this army of thoroughbreds will tax not only the entire capacity of the stalls under the control of the jockey club but the hundreds of stalls that have been provided by private enterprise in the vicinity of the track as well wellJockey Jockey Johnny Daly who was denied a license here last winter has recently arrived from the east where he spent the summer M J Daly the Iwys father is endeavoring to secure the boys res ¬ toration to favor Daly has taken on a lot of weight since he last rode rodeFormer Former jockey J Bullmau is on the scene but probably will not attempt to resume riding as mak ¬ ing weight would be a difficult matter for him His brother George has also decided to abandon the sad ¬ dle for good goodTrainer Trainer W E Cotton notified Secretary Treat by wire yesterday that he had disposed of Agnolo Nar ¬ rator and Tonic three of the least desirable of his string at Seattle The balance of the stable which he has been training for Col W E Applegate will leave Seattle for Emeryville in the near future
