TWO HUNDRED ARRESTS NO TRIALS New York September 201 Of the two hundred alleged bookmakers arrested at various times at the different race tracks in the different counties around Xcw York not one so far lias been tried Just what the reason is for the delay nobody seems t know but it is a fact that the race track lawyers have not been inclined to find much fault But with the arrests of some of the biggest exbookmak ¬ ers at Graveseud last week real action will soon begin in the courts it is said The saidThe race track attorneys are very confident as to the outcome of all the cases for they declare that when the merits of them are gone into evidence of guilt cannot be produced The former bookmakers of prominence say that it is only a question of time when tho question of what constitutes a misde ¬ meanor under the law will he decided by the courts after which the atmosphere will begin to clear As tho men arrested at Gravescnd were charged with bookmaklng it is assumed that when their cases come up for a hearing on Friday before Magis ¬ trate Geisniar the meaning of this tftrra from a legal point of view will be tuorouchly discussed
