NOTES OF THE TURF. O. A. .Bianchi has engaged jockey Scoville. who only recently returned from Japan, to ride his coming two-year-olds. Love of Gold, jumped on in the first race, at Oakland last Monday, had a tendon severed and is 1 ruined for racing purposes. C. N. Ross has a promising three-year-old racing at Beaumont in Pink Oup. a full-brother to, the , Kentucky Derby winner. Pink Star. Jimmy Reid. the little jockey under contract to the Pasadena Stable, is regarded by horsemen at Santa Anita Park as the find of the season. Jockey R. Wilson, who was suspended by Judge Murphy two months ago. iwill now he able to resume riding, as his suspension expired yesterday. It is reported that the old Ascot Park at Los Angeles will he converted into a motordrome which, it is said, will be the greatest automobile speedway in the country. Al Koenigshergs crack filly. Rose Queen, which was cut down In her last time out. is going along once more with her work and shows no ill effects from the mishap. Jockev- V. Powers is living up to his reputation as leading jockev of the country by his consistent and successful riding on the coast. At Oakland he rode nineteen winners and has added sis more to his record at Santa Anita Park. Secretary Smith of the Los Angeles Racing Association has announced that starter Holtman will conduct a school for yearlings at Santa Anita Park every morning, and that no entry of a two-year-old starter Will be accepted unless It has been properly schooled. This is done to avoid the jams and green tactics of the juveniles when .they first lace the barrier.
