The latter showed the most early speed, hut failed to stay and had no mishaps. Pretension, outpaced for the first half, moved up lust before turning into the stretch, but tired in the final sixteenth under the whip. Ladv Kittv showed speed, but fell away fast after entering the final eighth. Varietes tired. Aucassin was badly cut off on the far turn, the winner was entered for 00: no bid. Colloquy moved up fast when entering the last quarter, but swung somewhat wide, then finished resolutely under the whip. Tom MeGrath showed brilliant early speed and saved-ground when turning for home, but tired badly in the final sixteenth.
