OLD-TIME CRACK RIDER DIES. New York, April 12 — William Hayward. for years one of the best-knowit jockeys of the American turf, died yesterday at his stock farm in Sussex. X. J.. after a short illness. Hayward. who was born in Lngland in 1844. rode fur such well-known owners as Milton II. Sanford. August Belmont and A. J. Cassatt. and in 1S02 crowned a career of thirty years iu the saddle by winning the Fuhnrity on Morello.
