Norfolk ran in forward contention throughout, but was tiring at the end. Fond Heart, away poorly, closed a big gap and ioomed up in the stretch, but fell back finally. Earls Court was prominent to the stretcli and probably short. Tom McGrath ran In nearest pursuit for the first half and tired In the stretch. Escutcheon, from a ilatfooted start, made up considerable ground. Black Mary was pulled up at the start and only cantered the journey. The winner was entered for ,000: no bid. Bellwether lapped the pacemaker to the half and was crowded out and never could again get into serious contention. Juggler, in rare form ran forwardly and gamely, throughout. Footpad ran in nearest and strenuous pursuit of the winner for seven furlongs, but tired finally. Hans, after forward and strenuous pursuit in the early running, quit finally. Bonnie Kelso was always outpaced.
