VIRGINIANS TO TRAIN AT BENNING Xew York February S Virginians are makin ready for the racing season and as many of thei start OH with the meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club at Piinlico it will not lie long before they will be sending their charges along William Garth whose stable is always an extensive one has forty horses at his place Ingleside near Charlottesville and his brother and neighbor Woods Garth has a string of eight that lie will lit Theodore F Coles also at Charlottesville will begin with a stable of ten tenThese These horses will shortly be shipped to Beiining track at Washington Already several stables an at tin Washington course and it will be a much livelier spot before long longTheodore Theodore Coles probably has the best horse of any of his neighlfors in High Private the fouryearold son of Oddfellow and Coinmena that he took out oC a selling race last season High Private is the prop ¬ erty of C C Smithson whose stable is handled by Coles That he has been well engaged in the big handicaps is evidence that Coles expects him to train successfully although the colt was unsound when he bought him Another good one that Coles is handling for Mr Smithson is the jumping mare Vilhulla She is reported to be doing exceedingly well Bobbie Kean lugglcr Xeoskaleeta Bound Brook and Clements and others in the string stringA A number of the William Garth horses are two yearolds and several are the property of Edward Shaiighnessey It Is customary for Garth to cut con ¬ siderable figure in the early spring and this year should prove no exception wbeu he has such an ex ¬ tensive string to take to the races In his older division he has Wildfire Tommy Waddell Touchwood and others othersIn In the string trained by Woods Garth are Super ¬ stition Wilton Lackaye Love Watches and others including several twoyearolds
