MATT WINN TO VISIT EAST SHORTLY New York February 21 Alatt Winn manager of the Empire City Racing Association meetings at Yonkers has written that he will be in New York about March 10 The various stakes to be decided at the summer meeting of the association close March 1 and Lyman II Davis the racing secretary will either be here for the closing or will have a representative on hand handDuring During the winter Mr Winn has had active charge cf the iaclni at Jnarcx Mex and in his letter he reports that the sport had grown so in favor in the neighboring republic that during the closing days of the meeting a balance on the right side of the ledger has been shown The track at Juarez was constructed at an Immense cost and the club spared no expense in carrying on the sport in the face of many difficulties that always surround such n new venture For a time the weather conditions were such that racing had to be temporarily postponed but the club met its every obligation and at no time was there even suggestion of a reduction in purses or salaries to meet the ihiily losses lossesWith With the arrival f Mr Winn in New York the work of preparing the Yonkers track for the coining season will be unshed James Butler has several plans for the improvement of his track
