SARATOGAS RICH STAKE OFFERINGS New York March 2 The most notable of th additions to the Saratoga Associations list of stake for its coming meeting at the Spa is a handicap for twoyearolds to be known as the Kcnsselaer It will have a guaranteed value of 10000 which tig uru makes it one of the exceptionally ImiMirtaut chances for the new crop of racers Another is the Hurricana named out of compliment to the Amster ¬ dam breeding establishment of General Stephen San ford and his s lohn Sanford It is also for two yearolds and will carry an added value of nOUO This being an added money stake assures that it will be onu of the rich fixtures of the season seasonAn An important change has been made in the Sara ¬ toga Special for the coming season The association will add 2500 In addition to the 2500 gold cup that formerly was the only prize offered for this sporting stake The Saratoga Special is a race in which it cost 1000 to start a few seasons back and this year it will be 500 half forfeit forfeitStill Still another of the new offerings at the Springs will be a selling stake for marcs and geldings A new filly stake has been added to the old list anil altogether the Saratoga Association will have a more notable offering of fixtures than has been tin rule for some seasons This has been made posible not alone through the generosity of the association itself but through the liberality of horsemen and breeders as well as publicspirited citizens of Sara ¬ toga who have contributed to a fund which is to be used in tin race programs Altogether there will be something considerably in excess of 250000 dis ¬ tributed among the horsemen during tin August meeting The various stakes that have not already closed will close March 28 and four fixtures for the steeplechasers will close about the middle o April
