DEATH TAKES PERCY TAYLOR AWAY at his home 111 utn tTnay near Elgin and will be buried Sunday The decinleut land in 1SJKJ bringing bringinglibred libred horses id was wasnot not long until under tle lirm inimo of Tayfor Caldwell he became wi11 known on Chicago tracks as an owner From time to time he broiiRht1 over quite a number of horses and bought and raced others of American breeding As a racer Percy was the best horse he Imported but Bimbo Juliet Mar cellina Milly F Alva Lelaud Aristocrat Oakdale Ormoade and others were raced by tin linn with no conspicuous measure of success Among his im ¬ portations was the srrandlybred horse Oddfellow by Burcaldine Uehrimniss which has sired many good race horses since passing Into the possession of Colonel Jack Cliinn Mr Taylor wrote well of turf matters and contributed to several Chicago publics tioiis from time to time He was born at Ports ¬ mouth England and was llftynine years old oldHis His wife died several years ago and was burled ut Forest Home Two daughters one of them the wife of J J Murrsiy who Is now racing a stable of horses at Jacksonville survive him The other lives in New York
