JOHN MADDEN BUYS PROMISING FILLY Lexington Ky March 5 John K Madden today bought the twoyearold sister to Running Water and Yankee Girl by Sir Dixon Breakwater by Hindoo out of Woodford Clays stable at the Kentucky Asso ¬ ciation track and transferred her this afternoon to Hamburg Place The filly was bred by Colonel K F Clay at Ilunnymedc Stud Mr Madden says the fillr greatly resembles Rlue Girl with which he won the Great Fillv Stakes of 237o in 1101 afterward wiling her to William C Whitney for 30000 This resemblance prompted the purchase purchaseIt It Is iMr Maddenx intention that this lilly shall liecome one of twentyfive mares that he will send to France a year hence to form a stud to be headed by Ogden Mr Madden will ship his string of eight head of racers the smallest number with which lie has begun any racing season in the past fifteen years from Hamburg Place to Relmont Park on St Patricks Day For ten years Mr Madden has em ¬ ployed this day for the shipment of his string east from winter quarters Ills string for 1910 is made ip of the threeyearolds Hampton Court and Bishop and six twoyeardid fillies by Migraine Lady Schorr Plaudit Mimosa Ogden Rusy Maid The ScrilK Flora Pomona The Scribe Busy Girl and Sir Dixon Rreakwater Mr Madden says that Fitz Herbert will remain In Frank if Taylors stable during the racing season The abbreviation of the Madden stable Is due to the fact that he sold all of his colts and a iiumlMr of his fillies as yearlings last summer to William Garth and R T Wilson Jr at private sale The former bought eighteen and tbe latter twenty
