TRAINING OPERATIONS IN THE EAST New York March 11 There were busy scenes during the morning hours at Sheepshead Bay yester ¬ day when many of the famous racers that have helped to make turf history on the New York tracks were put through tbeir paces Trainer James Itowe had all the twoyearolds from the Kecne stable breezing over the course in Indian file for a quarter of a mile They went the quarter in 27 seconds aiitl appeared to be full of run They are a finelooking lot The older horses shown were Maskctte Affliction Suffragette Ballot and Hilari ¬ ous The rive were galloped over the training track and showed up well wellSam Sam Hilureth had a number of his stars out Montgomery Joe Madden Firestone Eddie Dugan and Dandelion in tlie first division were sent along for threeeighths from 44 to 47 Itestigouche King James Dalmatian Woodcraft and Kosc Queen were galloped and went along in fine style Hildrcths liorses have wintered well and give promise of great things when the summer campaign opens opensPeter Peter Wiminer had out a likely bunch of two yearolds and sent them along quarters in 27 seconds George Odoms Nimbus led his string of twoyear olds the company galloping quarters in 28 seconds Turf Star a good filly from E It Bradleys barn while being galloped overpowered her exercise boy and ran away about a mile She appeared distressed when finally pulled up upCharlie Charlie Hargrave after a winter at Juarez was out on the track and galloped once over the main course He appeared a bit drawn after his winter campaign but is as sound as ever and with the letup before the metropolitan season opens he will no doubt be at his best when called upon uponAt At Gravcseud Thomas Welsh was the first trainer to put his charges through their paces lie had out a nice lot of twoyearolds which were given useful gallops The older horses of ills string were Glucose Wise Mason Prince Imperial and The TheD D Woodford was qut with Sir Jplui Johnson Quantico and Berkeley The trio appeared to ho in excellent condition The first named appeared much lighter in body than formerly and close to racing form formF F D Weir hail Alfred Noble out andjscnt him along for two turns of the course The son of Garry Hermann aiid Ethel Pace is looking fit Louise S looking big and high in tlesli was galloped and ap ¬ peared full of running runningF F M Taylor has confined Fltz Herbert to shed exercise for the last few days
