EMPIRE CITY MEETING OPENS AUSPICIOUSLY. Scene of New York Racing Shifts to Yonkers Track — King James Wins the Brighton Mile. New York. July 5. — The scene of New York racing shifted to the Yonkers track of the Empire City lacing Association today. The first fourteen days will lie used to run off the dates that were turned over by the Brighton Beach Racing Association and the remaining twelve days will take the season to the opening at Saratoga. For the opening day there was a big crowd at the track on the hill and the sport was of excellent caliber. King James was an easy winner of the Brighton Mile over James K.
