KEENE CRACKS FOR SARATOGA. ■*Si w York". July II.— Now that Olambala has taken 1lie Brighton Handicap, his third big race in less than a months time — the other two beinu the Suburban rind the Commonwealth — he will get a rest. Before the start of the Brighton at Yonkers Saturday Thoinas llealey made arrangements with Janus Uowe to have him taken to Saratoga with the big division of the Keene stable which will go to the Springs this week. Mr. Howe has fixed Wednesday for his getaway ami he expects to make it without trouble. He will take to the Springs all the Keene horses that are now at Sheopshead Bay. There are seven at Yonkers and they will stay there through the meeting of the Empire City Racing Association. Some of the famous racers in whose company olambahi will travel to Saratoga are Ballot, the Suburban winner of ]!MIS. which he defeated in the Suburban of 1910; Hilarious, which he defeated in the Brighton Handicap: Maskette. Sweep, the Bel-Hunt and Lawrence Realization winner; Iron Mask. Cowl. ltuiinyiiicde and a whole bunch of youngsters of which the public knows nothing because they have not raced. Maskette apparently is not herself. She has not started since her defeat in the Sheeps-1-ead Bay Handicap by King James. The big Disguise male was pretty roughly used in UK Sheeps liead Bay. Sweep may not race at Saratoga. The Ben Brush colt was ipiite sore after his victory over his stable companion. Suffragist, and the windbroken Hindoo Star in the Realization. He fell tame a ipiarter of a mile from the finish and. perhaps, if there had been :i horse of good efauM to run against him he would have been beaten. Nor was Sweeps lameness after the finish of the Realization his first trouble with his underpinning. He had, ou earlier occasions, pulled np pioppy after private trials. If Sweep races in the fall Mr. Keene and Mr. Rowe will account themselves tacky. Hilarious is going to Saratoga lieeause he has nothing to keep him at Yonkers. He is not in the Empire City Handicap. Olambala is going to Saratoga with the Keene horses bream* he has no date ahead of the Saratoga Handicap. Mr. Wilson did not pat the Ornus colt in the Empire City Handicap, because he eon Id not Ion see he was going to be the best handicap home in the country this summer. The Saratoga Handicap and Cap arc the races at the Springs which Mr. Wilson is keenest about winning with Olambala. but a defeat in the Cup would not seriously upset him if the Ornus colt managed first to win the handicap, olambala won the Saratoga Cup of 1909 from J. B. Respess Wintergreeii. but he was defeated in the handicap by Affliction and Kings DauiMiter about an hour after the president of the Saratoga Association paid John Greener, of Nashville, #10.000 for hlui.
