While Mr. Whitneys stable has not haaa fortunate enough so far to win any of the greater prizes of the English turf, it has done very well this year and the rnces won yesterday will bring its earnings for the year to date close to the 0.0o0 mark, much more than stood to its credit at the same time last year. New Castle is the colt that brought the banner price of the yearling sales in this country in -90S. i .70o. So far ho has only shown well at a mile and shorter distances, but has pro1 red himself a very fast colt Bp to his limit. As the Meddlers generally do, he is likely to improve as he grows older and may do better things than he did yesterday. •
