AMERICANS IN GREAT FORM AT NEWMARKET H. P. Whitney Wins with New Castle, Perseus and Hillside and A. Belmont with Merry Task. load on Eng., July 15. — -The Newmarket Second July meeting, now in progress, has been a decidedly sal is factory affair to such American owners as are now racing their horses on this side. H. P. Whitney has so far won good races with Hillside, Perseus and New Caslle; August Belmont won the Zelland Ilate wilh Merry Task and L. Watcrbury the Two-Year-old Sab- Stakes witli Congo 11. Mr. Whitneys successes were with New Castle in the Beaufort Stakes. Hillside laj the Spring Hall Selling Stakes, and Perse an in the July Handicap. Clarkes smart Hamburg gelding, Kiel, was another American -band winner to scurc a good win at Newmarket, and after it was over was sold to P. Nelkc for .52.1.
