August 5. — At a mooting of tho Stewards of tho Jockey Club hold horo today, official MIOMWeii was made that racing in Now York Would MM to a close August 51. This has boon surmised for some days, but it was not until todays tin it in; that there was an official declaring off of tho fall dates of tho various ra ing associations. Lot tiis were received from tho Brooklyn Jockey Club, tho Conoy Island Jockey Club, tho Kuipiro City Barlag Association, tho Metropolitan Jockey Club and tho Queens County Jockey Club UMWdK that thov woofa not make use of the dates that had boon allotted to them. iVriiiissh.n was also asked and granted for the transfer of throe days. August 29. :!» and 31. from the Coney Island Jockey Club to tl.o Saratoga Association for the purpose of running the futurity over the latter track. In granting this request the towards did so with a proviso that it would not fill III hah a precedent. Another important happening at the mooting of tho stewards was the releasing of jockey Eddie Dugan Jroni his suspension after August 11. provided his reeled was not unsatisfactory with any association. Dugan was set down foe reckless riding at Sheeps-lie.nl Bey and was kept on the ground throughout the Meeting at Vonkors. Just before the opening of the Meeting here an effort was made to have him reinstated, hut it failed and at tho time it was thought that he would not be permitted to ride during the fhTratOfra season. After his suspension Dugan was stricken with pneumonia, bat lie is well again and is ready to ride. It is not expected that the Coney Island Jockey Club stewards will offer any bar to his reinstatement.
