HILDRETH TO RACE IN FLORIDA. Louisville, Ky.. August 12. There was perhaps more speedy work at Douglas Dark today than has been reeled off since the stables now quartered at this track and Churchill Downs were shipped here at the arindwp of racing at La ton hi. Jack Deumaii. Great Heavens, Foot, Tallahassee. Jack Darker and other horses speeded alOW a i faster than a two-uiinute clip, while W. C. Westmoreland did the first sharp yearling work of the season when he sent three of the get of The Commoner an eighth in thirteen seconds. It leaked out here today that S. C. Hildreth and F. J. Pons have patched up their dlsTereneea, with the result that Mr. Hildreth will race his string at Jacksonville the coining winter instead of shipping to California, as had been announced. Mr. HUdretb "ill ship to Florida as soon as the fall meeting at Churchill Downs ends. The differences between the Florida racing magnate and the fauoua trainer date back several years to the taking out of a selling race by Mr. Hildreth of a horse named Bullfinch. The horses of George Von tier Hoden of Jacksonville wen sold at Douglas Park today to satisfy a lonrl judgment. Luzetta was acquired bv N. Campbell for 10; W. J. Whalen sold to Nugent Bros, for jfir.ii. and .Miss Von der Hoden to J. J. fTaaalgan for *0. The proceeds of the sale more tlniu paid the judgment ami costs.
