KENTUCKY STALLS IN DEMAND. Louisville. Ky., August 16. The New Louisville Jockey Chili received applications from the east today for stable room fur the strings of Amos Tur-ney. George [and and Kimball Patterson, which make fully thirty strings of horses from that section for which reservations have been sought for the fall meeting. These stables will mostlv all go to Lexington to race and Racing Secretary W. II. Shelley has Ixtokod them for stable room there. He has only 590 stalls available on the track and these were tilled at the late spring meeting, so lie is iu a quandary as to what to do with tlie extra horses which are sure to go to Lexington this fall. This gives tin- management here little concern, as the two tracks can i ininodatc 1.990 horses and the adjacent territory can eusllv take care of the over-6ow. The feature today at Churchill Downs was the cutting loose by trainer Westmoreland of several of the yearlings by The Commoner, owned by F. J. Pons. They reeled off eighths around 12. "Trainer Westmoreland, in some eases, let the older horses work far ahead of the yearlings as leaders, ami tin-plan is a giNN| one. as It teaches the colts and tillies to run straight and true. I
