HERKIMER followed .BESOM closely to the stretch, then took the lead with a rush and won going awuy. BESOM set a fast pace ami hung oil gamely after helbg passed by the winner. HELMET soon ran imo third place and staved there, but could not improve his position in the final drive. COFNTLESS closed a big gap and finished fast. SIR JOHN JOHNSON was doing his best all the way. HANBUIPGE ran as if short. BLACK MATE ran a good race and finished gamely, but in the racing through the stretch carried WOODCRAFT to the extreme outside and was disqualified. WOODCRAFT closed a big gap into a fast going seeoml, was much the best and would have won anyhow hut for the foul. THE SOJTBE ran prominently all the way and hung 011 well. DORANTE ran fairly well. SAVANNAH made up much ground and was closing np at the end. SPIN ran well to the stretch and tired. SW.WNANOA closed a log gap. IBM SEM AID ran in closest pursuit to the stretch and retired suddenly.
