KENTUCKY RACING GOSSIP. Louisville, Ky., August IS. — Former jockey .T. T. Combs, now the owner of a stable of horses, came here from fnfrfrnta loday with several horses he l:as befea racing on the fair circuit. He reports that o.-jf horses which are now stapling at Latonia will be shipped to Churchill Downs and Bouglas Bark the coming week. They embrace the strings of C. A. Boss, J. W. Speirs, .1. B. Bespess. James F.vcr-maii, A. I.. Kirby. Hugh MeCarren, Lee Christy and Charles Patterson, while from Lexington there will he shipped in a few days to Douglas Park the prineipal horses in the stahles of Will McBaniel. J. B. Boss and W. .1. Young. J. Cook has already arrived from Latonia with his string. Former jockey ••Monk" Ovefton is in charge id the Combs stable here. Horsemen say that the eighty-eight-pouud boy, Michael Griffin, on whom B. Trotter has a contract. a promising joekoy prospect. Mr. Trotter lias permitted W. C. Westmoreland to have the use of the bov here In the breaking of his yearlings and the lad lias made a greater impression than any bey seen at Bouglas Bark in a number of years. He is a Chicago lad and .1 brother to the successful jockey. K. Griffin. Mr. Trotter also has the eontrael 011 Charles Boss, while Mr. Westmoreland and his employer F. J. POne. Control Michael OConnor, Willie Stamen and Michael Henry, all of whom are at Bouglas Park with the Pan* stable.
