CONFERENCE AT NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans. La.. September lo.- Promoters of the proposed thirty -days racing meeting at City Park traek. opening on ThanksaiVlag Day, and to he financed by local merchants, held a conference at the Hotel Granewald tonight. The notices were signed by Louis Barthe. It Is proposed to raise 39,009 by the merchants for nurses exclusive of the gate receipts. Albert Godehaux was some time ago named trustee for the fund, but it is said contributions have been slack and tonights conference was with an idea of stimulating the movement.
