the meeting was conducted There came from Juarez no breath of scandal aud as the management and the officials will be the same this season it is proper to expict that the same clean sport will be had during the coming winter winterThe The inaugural season at Juarez was not a big success financially for the reason that turfmen were not fully aware of the opportunities offered thore and did not go iu great numbers This season how ¬ ever will bring a great change in all of this Horse ¬ men and their following from all parts of the coun ¬ try have made preparations for attending the coming meeting and In place of the smaller gatherings of last season there will be a good healthy game with plenty of horses and a patronage that will insure a highly successful meeting meetingThe The Juarez track is located about one mile from the justness center of El Paso the largest and most progressive city in the southwest and Is reached by street car after a ride of twenty minutes Those who have visited the locality claim that its climate is uuequaled by that of any other racing point In the country With the warmth of southern California or northern Florida there Is combined a lightness and clarity of air that tend to invigorate and as a re ¬ sult It furnishes a most delightful upbuilding cli ¬ mate for winter tourists touristsThe The hotel accomodations of El Paso have been vastly improved since last winter so that now there will be ample accomodations for all who may go there whether for the entire season or for a shorter stay And in addition to this there is now In opera ¬ tion on the Mexican side a hotel of eighty rooms that is almost opposite the entrance to the track j This hotel was built for the accomodation of owners aud trainers who prefer to be quartered close to their horses horsesAltogether Altogether the prospects for a great winter race meeting never looked brighter than for the approach ¬ ing term at Juarez Eastern turfmen of wealth and prominence and their friends and followers will be there in numbers and the west will have the greatest representation it has ever contributed to winter racing With the assurance of good patronage many wellknown big operators have signified their Inten ¬ tions of having a try at the Juarez game and a num ¬ ber of the best bookmakers In the country have al ¬ ready made arrangements to be on hand for the opening
