STATISTICS OF KENTUCKY RACING RACINGTabulations Tabulations Conveying an Idea of Important Part the Home of the Thoroughbred Played in American Racing During the Current Year Kentucky racing for 1910 has come to a close and a review of the seasons resnlts shows that Ken tuolcv whose thoroughbred interests are vastly greater than those of any other section of the country iliiyed its usual important part in American racing While the three Kentucky racing associations that winducted meetings under the jurisdiction of tint Kentucky State Racing Commission collectively raced for exactly the same number of days as in 1901 the distribution of money in purses and stakes exceeded the tutal of the preceding vear to the extent of 87784 This years total distribution figures 55999 against WMJ8215 in ItKXt representing a daily average distribution of 317850 as against 230409 last year Each yearEach of the three tracks in the state Louisville Latonia and Lexington conducted spring and fall meetings occupying 112 days in all At all three tracks the racing was of exceptional brilliancy and was attended by satisfactory financial results to the gratification of those who have been advocating the pari nuituel system of bettiiig as a means to the rehabilitation of racing in America The pafimutuel method is the only form of betting that may legally be employed in Kentucky and the Kentuckians have great fjiith in Its efficiency as a cure for many of the Ills that have beset the American turf It seems to be constantly growing in popularity with the patrons of Kentucky racing and 1911 will see it installed else ¬ where as well wellThere There are now no clouds on the Kentucky racing horizon The longstanding controversy between the Kentucky State HatIng Commission and the Latonia Jockey Club was finally settled during the year by the courts in a manner that was in accord with the contentions of the commissioners The Latonia manage ¬ ment gracefully accepted the decision and the utmost harmony now prevails with the result that all con ¬ cerned are united in a concerted and laudable effort to build up the sport and are succeeding admirably Ambitious plans have already been formulated for 1111 1 for all the tracks and every effort will lie made to tlract the highest class of horses in training to the home of the thoroughbred thoroughbredThe The following tabulation shows
