Arthur Elrod, manager of the Marllioro, Md., track, will ask the Jockey Club for dates for a .spring meeting following that at Pinilico. "The Germans are exceedingly fond of racing," says James II. McCormick. "Bacing days are Sunday. Monday. Wednesday and Thursday. The sport begins at three oclock on Sundays and about two oclock on weekdays. There are seven races each day. Kaiser Wilhelm and his staff attend the races frequently at the track situated in the Grunowald. which is the fashionable section of Germany. This race course cost ,000,000. American race-goers think Belmont Park a grand track, and it certainly is, but it doesnt compare with the Grunewald."
