MANY HORSES TO RACE AT NORFOLK. Norfolk, Va., March 17. With 575 stalls already assigned to owners, and at least 150 more to be accommodated, the spring meeting which opens at the No-folk track on April 5. to continue up to and including April 20, will unquestionably be the most pretentious meeting ever held in the Old Dominion. Last vear manager Robert Levy was obliged to erect new stalls at the track in order to accommodate the ! large number of horses, and now he is having an additional 300 stalls built for the April meeting. In i addition to -these new stalls, 200 stalls at the Jamestown Exposition grounds, about two miles away from the race track, will be brought into use to help accommodate the largo number of horses that will be ! Seine horses are already at the track. E. J. Moyne Ims arrived with four from Oakland, Cal. Mr. Moyne - made the :!,500 mile journey in six days. This will 1 be his first time at the Norfolk track. Among the : Moyne racers is Chester Krum, winner of the New Year Handicap at Oakland. C. J. Quinn is also hero from Oakland and J. AY. Flvnn has arrived with the Forest Rose string, including Coonoy K.. Montcalm, The Golden Butterfly. . Laughing Eyes and Capsize. David Ruulops stable has been split. Several of : his horses are now here, while others are being ; t milled at Benning. They will arrive this week. . Among those already here are Bendaga and Touchwood. Sir John Johnson, the star of the Reverwyck : Stable, will be among the horses that will race here. , Others that are coming include Lahore. Donald Mac-opnald, - Mary Davis, Guy Fisher, Spellbound. Super stition. High Private, The Nigger, Besom, Racquet, . Via Octavia. Ragman. Hoffman, Vreeland, Stanley : Fay, Footprint, Priscillian, Glucose, Touch Me and 1 Stinger.
