CARRILLON began slowly and was outrun to the stretch turn, where she was taken to the outside, then finished wltn a rush and got up in the closing strides to win going away. VREELAND was a forward contender all the way and ontgamed LADY SYBIL in the final drive. The latter showed much speed in setting the pace for the first half mile, then tired in the final drive. SEYMOUR BEPTLER lost his rider when the barrier was sprung and ran away five miles. SIR EDWARD ran poorly. GILD fell at the thirteenth fence, but was remounted and finished fast with blood pouring freely from a bad cut on his head. JIB JITSC fell at the thirteenth, but was also remounted and finished.
