These gentlemen have an array " of over twenty horses to send to Latonia from Churchill DtWM, the Hitchcock and Knapp horses being in charge of W. H. Karrick and the Wilson siring in the care of James lltMJHMM, a former well-known and capable jockey who lias developed lato a successful trainer. Hallenbccks horses will again be seen at I.alonia during the coming meeting in charge of Frank M. Taylor. Mr. Hallenbeck is an especially welcome addition to the ranks of owners engaged in lacing on Kentucky tracks, inasmuch as he is in the market right now to buy any good horse that may show up. He lias at present only seven horses in his string, they being Fauntlcroy. Housemaid. Miss Minnie. Adams Express. Sir Marion. Recompense and the recently acquired 110,000 coll. Worth. Capt. E. It. Spring Board, Do Nothing, Siinstra ■M Moilie Pitcher. Heather broom made a favorable impression in her recent races at Churchill Downs and is counted upon as a certain starter in the Latonia Derby. She is a grand -looking filly, possessing a wonderful range and leverage, with an action that is well-nigh perfection. She was timed a phenomenal trial early this spring. Trainer Healy makes no secret of his belief that at present she is not at her beat, but lie expects to have her lit to run for a kings ransom on June 10. Frederick Johnson is another easterner who will lie n newcomer at Latonia ibis season. .1. W. May. who successfully raced Highball, is in charge of he promising bind of two-year-olds owned by Mr. John-.-"ii. and thev Include Piping Bock, Miss Wigga and Light O IT Life. They will be kept at the Milldale course for the entire term of racing. Many other eastern horses will contest for the rich prizes hung up at Iitonia ibis year and the sport will closely resemble that of the Metropolitan race courses. The cards this season will look far different from those arranged before the present management came inlo control of the track. Quality will be conspicuous and Secretary Maginn will find it an easy task to provide high class racing.
