Greeners Ten-aesaee-hred colt, Countless, today defeated the Oklahoma ■•speed marvel." John irillin II. . in decisive fashion at the latters favorite distance, five furlongs. In doing so Countless ran a record-making race, reducing the former track mark of 1:00. held jointly by Tennessee Boy. It. C. Kami and Hatightv to 59-;. John Cridin II. was an overwhelming public eh. .ice. but the Tennessee horse was not lacking for support and would have lieen accorded more but for his suspicious manlier of going in his preliminary gallop, in which he showed decided symptoms of lameness. He exhibited none of the trouble while going In the |Mi-t. however, and he raced along close behind the favorite during the first half mile, the latter not being able at any time to get a lead ot more than a length and a half. On the stretch turn Countless ran alongside the favorite and tlie contest was then over so far as first money wag concerned. for Countless only played with his rival in the final furlong. Ellin Beau and Little Father furnished a strenuous contest for third money, but were never si vioiis , pponents to the leaders. Terrific heat continues to prevail and it deprived the spectators of some enjoyment, as otherwise todays sport would have been accounted great. T feature, a handicap at one mile and a sixteenth, furnished an upset in the defeat of Heatherbroom, a topheflvy favorite, by Carlton G. and Leamenee. The Cassatt lilly was considered to have the race at her mercy and gave her backers encouragement by leading her opponents in commanding style for six furlongs. Cassatt departed today for the east en route to London to witness King Georges coronation festivities. Later he will make a tour of Europe, returning to Louisville for the fall meeting. His horses will be raced in this section until the close of the Kentucky season. Jockey J. Callahan was suspended for five days by the judges for rough riding in the second race. Jockeys Loftus and Walsh were suspended tor six days by the starter for disobedience at the Boat. Ray Miller and E. L. Fitzgerald will ship their stables to Oklahoma City the latter part of this Week.
