MONTREAL FALL MEETING PROSPECTS GOOD. Work of Remodeling Stables Completed Reservations for Kentucky Horses Stakes Announced. Montreal, Que., July 20. The autumn meeting of the Montreal Jockey Club promises to eclipse that held over the Blue Bonnets course last spring. This fall the number of horses racing here will bo increased by accessions from Kentucky, including those of George Odoui, Henderson and Uogan and J. W. May. The work of remodeling the stables has been completed and the horsemen will find a great comfort in the new arrangements. Several owners have already applied for stalls and some will ship here after the close of the Fort Erie meeting August 5. Tliere are eight stakes to be run this fall, five of which are open events, while the others will be for Canadian-bred and owned horses. The track has been well looked after all summer and will be In as good condition as it was last spring, when so many records were made. There is stabling for over 000 horses at Blue Bonnets and this will accomodate the number of horses now racing in this country. .Montreal is a good place to rest aud many will take advantage of it during next month. The Wilson string will bo strengthened this fall by a number of two-year-olds which were left at Saratoga the greater part of the summer in the hope that the New York tracks would open. The following are the conditions of the stakes which close August 4 for the autumn meeting of the Montreal Jockey Club: Earl Grey Cup, for three-year-olds and upward. Handicap. By subscription of 5 each to the winner, 0 to accompany the nomination and 5 additional to start, with ,200 added, of which 50 to the second horse and 25 to the third. The Montreal Jockey Club to present a cup or piece of plate to the owner of the winner. Weights to be announced five days licfore the day of the race. Winners after the announcement of weight, three pounds extra. One mile and a quarter. Hochelaga. for two-year-olds. Handicap. By subscription of 5 each to the winner. 0 to accompany the nomination and 5 additional to start; with ,000 added, of which 00 to the second horse and 00 to the third. Weights to be announced three days before the day of the race. Winners after announcement of weights, three pounds extra. Six furlongs. Derby. Cup, ,000 added. A gold challenge cup presented by tbe Earl of-Derby. For three-year-olds and upward. Tin; bona tide property of a British subject resident in Canada prior to August 1,1911. Handicap.
