MUDDY TRACK AT BUTTE. Butte, Mont., August 2. A, heavy rain storm during the morning hours made the track deep, consequently the mud runners were in demand. The public succeeded in picking three out of six races and the other winners were more or less backed, so the ring again suffered extensive losses. Arasee showed his superior mud-running ability by winning easily the feature event of the day, a handicap at one mile. The conclusion of the sixth race found the halter man on the job in the person of C. Buxton, who bid Pickaninny up to 00, but the horse did not change hands.
