TWENTY THOUSAND SEE SPOKANE RACES. Spokane. Wash.. Oct. 2. An attendance figuring close to twenty thousand patronized the; opening of the Spokane Interstate Fairs annual meeting. This will be the average attendance ami it is expected that on Derby Day there will be over 40,000 paid admissions. The main attraction was the 5. A. R. Selling Stakes at seven furlongs, which was won bv Blondy in a hard drive from Oswald B. and Daddy Gip. The start was bad. Imprint being as good as left and several others being tangled at the barrier. Oxer and Chilla wen; the pacemakers, but both were thoroughly done at five furlongs. Between races vaudeville performances, embracing everything, from an aeroplane tiiglit to barrel races, took place, affording great amusement to the crowd.
