A. L. ASTES BREEDING PLANS, New York, December C. Antony L. Astc has taken his promising lightweight jockey, Nolan, out of the hands of W. T. Anderson and has brought 1 him to New York preparatory to placing him with a stable at Juarez. Nolan is a New York lad who can make ninety-five pounds without trouble, and who has been showing promising form in the saddle. Mr Astes racers, the best of which arc the fillies .Tacquelina and Marjorie A., will go to Charleston in the string of W. T. Anderson, who has them under lease. Jacquellna is a home-bred daughter of Jack Point, a son of Sir Dixon, and Merry i Maiden, with which Mr. Asto won the .Brighton Handicap of 1000. Jack Point has been standing at J S Barbees Farm in Kentucky for half a dozen years, together with some eight or ten of the Aste inares. Mr. Aste has some idea of presenting 1-ick Point either to the Canadian or the New York breeding bureaus, in which event he will send his good mares to other stallions. The smartest racer, a few seasons back, among the Aste mares at the Barbee place, is Gold Lady, a dau-hter of Goldcrcst and Lady Himniel. Other mares in the Aste stud include Gold Ten, a daughter of Goldcrost and Miss Tenny; Estimate, a daughter of Sir Dixon and Reckon, and a half-sister to Sam Phillips. Compute and Accountant: Raiment, a ilauchter of Henry of Navarre and Lady Rayon; Eyelet a dau-hter of the St. Simon stallion, St. Andrew? and Sweet Marjorie. a daughter of Goldfinch ""sVve? Whitney paid Mr. Aste 0,000 Thl K mire is a member of the female family of Kliiley Mack, still another great race horse. Tacuucl ina and Marjorie A. arc destined for service at the Aste stud when they, shall have outlived their usefulness on the race track. nitiYnately Mr. Astc expects to breed his Jack Point mares to the successful young Isinglass stalling Shoot as the racing of the last three or four fears hS demonstrated that the Sir Dixon rifs successfully with that of Star Shoot, Pncfo n at the head of Charles Kohlers Ramapo now Jersey, one of the most brilliant of Stud in New rivals in 1907, was a son of s?l Colins 4hii two-year-old and The Niece.
