BURCH was lucky at the start and, showing improvement, wore OLD BOY down in the first quarter and. running into a good lead, outstayed TENNESSEE BOY in the final drive. The latter also ran in improved form and finished gamely. OLD BOY set the early pace, but tired after going three furlongs. TOM SHAW was away poorly and might have won with an even start. SILVER KNIGHT was going gamely at the end and will improve vastly over tlds performance when running at a longer distance. MAMITA showed early speed and was poorly ridden. FORT WORTH went far below his true form and was always beaten off.
