LITTLE MARCHMONT ran a fairly good race only. BLACK MATE ran out in the stretch, losing much ground. CAMEO showed much speed in pacemaking, but tired at the end. IIOGAN took the lead quickly and, showing the most speed all the way, outstayed WANER gamely at the finish. WANER ran in forward contention throughout and made a resolute finish. SERENADE ran a good race, only giving way in the final furlong. MIKE MOLETT quit. SABADO finished well. The others were always outpaced. Scratched 90S95 Gilbert Rose. 112. . GELICO began slowly and was well back for the first half, then moved up rapidly and, passing the leaders with a rush, won easing up. JOHN II. SHEEHAN followed SALVAGE in close pursuit from the start and passed him in the last furlong, but succumbed readily to the winners challenge. SALVAGE showed much speed and made the pace fast for five-eighths, but tired and quit in the final drive. OSCURO closed a big gap in the last quarter. BELLSNICKER was off poorly. NOVGOROD and THE FAD showed speed, but quit hi the stretch. Scratched 99944 Boano, 103.
